Position Descriptions
Vice President of Production: Responsible for producing and managing all in-person events PAC puts on throughout the year. Serves as a primary contact for all venues and works to produce the A Cappella Sampler in the Fall Semester and Spring Showcase in the Spring semester. Coordinates with the President, Vice President of Community Relations, and Advisor weekly in order to continue the inner workings of PAC, as well as give input on the different events happening throughout the year. Oversees the Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Public Relations & Digital Engagement,. Projects: A Cappella Sampler, Penn State Dance Competition, Spring Showcase
Vice President of Community Relations: Responsible for retention, engagement, and promoting the welfare of the Penn State Arts Community. Includes sending out emails to the 56+ groups that PAC represents and helping manage the day to day affairs of the community. Coordinates end-of-semester roundtables with arts presidents and non-arts student leaders/administration and supervises smaller community roundtables. Will work with the President & VP of Production to plan the annual Palmer student leader event. Coordinates with the President, Vice President of Production, and Advisor weekly in order to continue the inner workings of PAC, as well as aid in events year round. Will amplify the PAC community across the 56+ groups through outreach, socialization, and Oversees the Directors of Acapella & Dance Relations, UPUA Representative and SPA Liaison. Projects: Community Emails, End-of-Semester Roundtables, Palmer Event
Treasurer: Responsible for maintaining and managing the funds and ASA account of the group and helping other arts organizations with any financial questions or concerns. Projects: Funding Requests for Arts Orgs, PAC Finances
Secretary: In charge of managing the PAC listserv and communicating with arts orgs in terms of internal PAC updates. Communicates with arts presidents to make sure turnover is complete at the end of the year in order to maintain contact with every group. Partener with the Vice President of Community Relations to manage community events and communication. Takes notes at every meeting/event and sends out listserv messages. Projects: Master Contact Sheet, Turnover, Listserv Management, Meeting Minutes, End-of-Semester Roundtables, Recap Emails
Director of Public Relations and Digital Engagement: Manages all PAC social media outlets and keeps the website up to date. Coordinates with the rest of the board and Advisor to post all relevant content and is responsible for finding ways to boost the influence and reach of PAC’s social media and public branding. Responsible for creating all graphics and digital content for PAC’s social media and productions. Should also have videography skills in order to edit videos and photos from PAC events.

Director of A Cappella Relations: Serves as the primary contact and liaison between PAC and Penn State’s 9 A Cappella groups. This position coordinates the A Cappella Common Auditions once a semester in addition to organizing an A Cappella specific community roundtable once a semester and manages the A Cappella presidents GroupMe. Should be prepared to deal with day-to-day concerns. Projects: Semesterly Common Auditions, Roundtables
Director of Dance Relations: Serves as the primary contact and liaison between PAC and the 22 dance organizations it represents. Responsible for running both PAC Dance GroupMes (presidents and general) and working to help bring more dance organizations into PAC. Coordinates once a semester dance specific roundtables and works to manage the day-to-day concerns of the community. Projects: Roundtables, Penn State Dance Competition
Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion & Sustainability: Assist President and Vice Presidents’ plan for the Palmer Event, which is an event held in the fall semester to connect student leaders across Penn State to discuss and develop a sense of belonging in the arts community, and to help leaders create connections to other organizations they may not have considered working with before. Identify points where PAC can improve in DEIS, and generate solutions in these categories. Attend and Share the Student Organization Inclusion & Belonging workshop with PAC board/members and hold a discussion on key questions related to PAC around implicit bias, microaggressions, and creating inclusive spaces.Coordinate a live, facilitated workshop about best practices for DEI within PAC and for other PAC organizations.Talk to the organizations within PAC about how they can create inclusive spaces and a sense of belonging for BIPOC students as well as share insights and tips on how to recruit and encourage BIPOC students to join their organizations to make the arts community more inclusive. Works with Sustainability institute and is responsible for creating and implementing a sustainability project for the community once a semester. Brings PSU community members and faculty who specialize in DEI and Sustainability efforts into our working space to promote growth. Projects: IDI Training, Sustainability Projects, Guides, IllumiNATION
University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) Representative: Serves as the affiliate to UPUA and is responsible for attending their meetings in order to give an update on the inner workings of PAC throughout the year. Additionally, must update the board about current legislation and assembly campaigns. Is responsible for keeping board in the know of what legislation is being passed so they may give their input. Projects: >3 pieces of legislation benefiting PAC community
