- A Capella
- Unfortunately, there are not a ton of alternatives to Zoom for A Capella rehearsals/performances, however, Discord is a suggestion that is continuing to come up as an alternative. While it is traditionally used for online gaming, for groups that want to use a backing track, Discord may work better than Zoom in terms of eliminating the lag between each device involved on the call.
- Dance
- Have your dance captain/choreographer film themselves working on a combination and send it to the rest of the group so they can learn the combination and rehearse it in an outdoor space if possible. Uploading different images of dance formations could also provide a good way of getting the group to learn a combination while still remote.
- Theater
- Try to get streaming rights to have either radio plays or online musicals. Several plays and musical are now available for streaming rights and Zoom readings or even full on “Zoomsicals” are possible to make during this time. For example The Penn State Thespian Society will be performing The Sound of Music online later this semester.
